About Me

Michael Joaquino is his 5th year student of Architectural Engineer program at Penn State University. He will be graduating in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in mechanical systems. He is currently a member of the Penn State Chapter of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers).

Michael has past experience in his field of study that included two internships. He has interned with the Office of Physical Plant, a construction management firm located in State College, Pennsylvania during the summer of 2015. With the Office of Physical Plant, a majority of those projects Michael has assisted with are renovations, where he was responsible for the construction progress and coordination of mechanical project.

Recently, his second internship was with TLC Engineering for Architecture in Nashville, TLC Engineering is an MEP consulting firm where they specialized in healthcare. This past internship provided excellent experience in the design and responsibilities of a mechanical engineer for a variety of building systems. Including his tasks of designing mechanical systems and simulating energy and mechanical loads, Michael provided assistance in commissioning for new construction of a hospital tower and higher education. For his task in commissioning, he worked thoroughly in functional performance testing for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Along with mechanical design, Michael enjoys a variety of sports especially football, Photography, and traveling.
